Message from our Nurse

When your child is sick;
Students should be kept home from school when they have ANY of the following symptoms:
1. Temperature of 100.00F or higher
2. Diarrhea (3 loose bowel movements in a row)
3. Vomiting
4. Suspicious, undiagnosed rash or itch
5. Frequent, congested cough
6. Yellow or green drainage from nose or eyes
Please keep the student home until the illness symptoms have stopped for twenty four (24) hours. (No fever with no medication for 24 hours)
If your child has seen the doctor and has started on antibiotics for a bacterial infection, please keep the child home until 24 hours after treatment has begun.
If your child has been diagnosed with communicable diseases such as chicken pox, scarlet fever, or herpes simplex, please call the School Nurse. (Please get a doctor’s note also.)
How can you reduce illnesses?
Please teach and enforce Frequent Hand Washing with soap and water at home and school.
Also, teach your child to “cover their cough and sneeze” with their sleeve or arm to catch some of the germs that fly in the air.
Ensure child gets good nutrition, fluid hydration, and sleep.
Thank you for helping keep our school a healthy place to learn!
Mrs. Sargent, School Nurse 270-8104
